Classic slope shoulder dreadnought with solid top and vintage sunburst but all is not what it appears to be on closer inspection.

More details about Blueridge BG-40 Guitar

The BG-40 “southern jumbo” dreadnought guitar from Blueridge is the first level in the slope shoulder series. The BG-40 is part of the Contemporary series, but finished with a classic sunburst design. Gibson really came up with a classic design here that really rivalled Martin’s famous dreadnought pattern, needless to say these large body guitars are known there volume when pushed hard with a flat pick. They lend themselves towards strong string rythm styles but that’s is really up to you.

Note: there is an anomaly with this particular guitar. When we looked inside there are side braces which denotes an all solid guitar but the label BG-40 indicates a laminated back and sides model.

You would never see such braces on a laminated instrument, they would be pointless. They are there to prevent a crack from running down the grain.

It would be fair to assume that the label is incorrect and in fact this is a BG-140 with all solid mahogany back and sides which retails for $1499. It is being sold as a BG-40. For more info call us.
