Blueridge BR-371 Parlour Guitar

All solid timbers with spruce top, rosewood back and sides and full pearl perfling inlays.

This is the design that launched the steel string acoustic guitar into the 20th century. Named the Parlour because at the time, it was preferred to the piano in American homes. It still has the wider neck the European guitars had, and was necessary, due to the tighter steel strings that were coming into fashion. Back then, it was the loudest guitar the world had ever heard and CF Martin was the maker.

The new styles of playing with plectrums, lent themselves to the punchy little instrument and so its versatility was its strength.

  • Top: Solid Sitka spruce
  • Back and sides: Solid Santos rosewood
  • Neck: Mahogany
  • Inlay: Abalone
