The Eastman MD314 mandolin is modeled on the F4 design, which was pioneered by that great US company. It has an oval sound hole. This model fell out of favour with the bluegrass set, mainly it seemed, due to the lack of mid-range bite that the later F5 achieved.
Having said that, this mandolin style was often preferred by Ry Cooder and other Americana players, celtic musicians too.
It’s loud, make no mistake, but it’s a whole lot warmer in the lower tones. Comes with soft gig bag.
Not only do we stock the Eastman MD314 mandolin, but as mandolin specialists we carry a whole range of mandolins and instruments from the mandolin family.
