Description
Ian Watchorn Panormo Repro Guitar
This instrument is built with highly figured maple back and sides. It is just as the originals were constructed. It has a black varnished neck and head. The guitar comes with PegHed planetary tuners, rather than the usual wooden pegs.
Ian Watchorn’s Panormo repro guitar is a close copy of the work of Joseph Panormo. He made violins and guitars in London between 1804 and 1837. Panormo met the famous Catalonian guitarist Fernando Sor and built instruments under his guidance from around 1815 until Sor left London in 1823.
Joseph Panormo subsequently built guitars under the Panormo Fecit label and in conjunction with guitar maker Anthony Brown (aka Antonio Bruno).
