We have always been a big fan of Mr Prucha’s work, all made in his workshop just outside Prague. Highly regarded now in the USA and having moved back to his homeland to continue his good work.
Whilst his purebred bluegrass resonators command a hefty price tag, not so many are aware that he build a highly desirable and slightly more affordable openback banjo.
This Premium model is certainly not so “old timey”. It is a very modern instrument with brass tone rim, a stunning flamed maple pot (loud) and a highly figured hard maple neck (even louder).
AND “Czech” out the finest of inlay work on neck and peghead. All this from a master craftsman who is gifted in engineering just as much as being a great luthier to boot.
No out-sourcing here, all made by Jaroslav Prucha & Co., Czech Republic.
