Considered by some to be a very alternative bass, the Regal RD-05E resophonic is an interesting instrument to have in your bass range, it has a unique sound. If miked in a studio, it could deliver that something different sound That you’re looking for. The real strength of this Dobro style resonator bass is in its old-school lipstick pick-up which gives you a big warm sound, not unlike a Hofner violin bass.

It responds just as well in the studio and through public address systems. The built-in resonator cone amplifying system gives you as big a tone as many conventional acoustic bass guitars but with a very cool appearance.
