Kentucky KM-206 Mandolin

The Kentucky KM-206 is the latest model from Kentucky. There are two big brands in mandolin manufacturing worldwide and they are very well known for their high quality and a large range to choose from. You only need to check out other mandolins on this site to know who they are.

Kentucky have now come up with a dark stain and satin finish teardop model at a great price.

The satin finish is significantly nicer than other satin mandolins, it has a very soft sheen which enhances the flamed maple back and sides. Even the neck has this quality of maple so one would have say the overall grade of timbers used here are higher. The KM-206 has a very warm tone normally only found in mandolin in a higher price range.

All in all it’s a very successful build and well worth considering if the dark, satin look is for you.
