Altamira Concert Torres Flamenco Guitar

The Altamira Concert Torres Guitar is just one of the historical patterns that Altamira create in the Hanson Yao workshop.

The concert Torres model is a traditional guitar honouring Antonio de Torres. Antonio Torres was a pioneer of Spanish guitar making in the 19th century, his genius in design developed the guitar into the instrument we know today. The designs he created improved the overall dimensions and construction of earlier historical instruments and were the first recognisably contempory classical guitars.

This Altamira “Torres” model is based on the guitar numbered SE114 made by the Antonio Torres in 1888 and has been constructed to reflect the tonal qualities and aesthetic of that very guitar.

This one was actually built by Altamira’s  Hanson Yao with beautiful birdseye maple and a hand rubbed finish it’s very lightweight construction gives this guitar a crisp tone with powerful projection.

The shallow birdseye maple body reduces some of the guitars low frequencies to  strengthen the mid range.

The result is a guitar that projects very well.
