More details about Joe Gallacher Dreadnought Guitar
Joe Gallacher is one of the many fine luthiers we are lucky to have in Australia. Guitar makers will generally work on one guitar at a time so they know the instrument literally inside out, making subtle decisons along the way.
The only decoration on this Joe Gallacher Dreadnought is a simple Herringbone inlay around the soundhole and there is no headstock name, just a signed label inside.
The top is made from Carpathian spruce sourced from the Carpathian Mountains that run through Translyvania.
The back and sides are also of interest.
Joe heard that an old pub was being torn down (or renovated) and a huge 2 inch thick Mahogany bar top was up for grabs and he snapped it up.
Whether it’s “Old Pub” mahogany or Carpathian spruce, this dreadnought has a lot of character.
