More details about Legnani Style Guitar made in Germany c.1830
A fine and well preserved Legnani-style guitar, made in Markneukirchen, possibly from the workshop of Christian Frederich Bauer. This guitar shows all the characteristics of the Markneukirchen school but clearly eas built for ther English market. It’s original head being in the style of Panormo but fitted with high quality Markneukirchen brass and iron machine tuners. It retains it’s original fitted English case. This guitar is a full-size Legnani model with a stringlength at 645mm the same as Guadagini guitars of the same era.
Specifications :
Belly: a single piece of well-quartered pine.
Back: One piece of deeply figured Maple
Neck: Maple.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition for it’s age. There are no cracks at all and minimal wear to the original amber oil varnish on the back and sides.
