Regal RD-05E Resophonic Bass Considered by some to be a very alternative bass, the Regal RD-05E resophonic is an interesting instrument to have in your bass range, it has a unique sound. If miked in a studio, it can deliver that “something different” sound if that’s what you’re looking for.
The real strength of this Dobro style resonator bass is in its old-school lipstick pick-up which gives you a big warm sound, not unlike a Hofner violin bass. It responds just as well in the studio and through a PA. The built-in resonator cone system is as loud as a conventional acoustic bass guitars but with a very cool appearance.
