Yao Xin (Hanson Yao) is a renowned luthier from China who acquired his early woodworking skills at the China Art Academy. In the early 2000’s a trip to Spain was inevitable and it was here he learnt the art of classical guitar making. When such an esteemed luthier owns a guitar factory the guitars made there will be impressive. The entire range of Altamiras from a 1/4 size student model to historical replicas and experimental latticed braced instruments are all subject to his scrutiny and imagination.

Players of Altamiras include Rene Izquierdo, David Russell, Aniello Desiderio, Irina Kulikova, Martha Masters, Pavel Steidl, Ricardo Gallen, Gabriel Bianco, Elina Chekan, have graced concert halls all over the world with Hanson’s guitars.
