Gibson and Martin guitars have both had their ups and downs. C.F Martin to a lesser extent. With some serious competition coming in the 1970’s from Japanese companies like Tama, Takemine, Ibanez, Suzuki, Yamaha and Sigma (Martin connected) plus many more.
