More details about Baroque 13 course Lute by Gerhard Reiter 1974
A 13 course lute by Gerhard Reiter-Marknuekirchen 1974. Note that this Lute was handmade by Gerhard Reiter himself, not a factory instrument.
Very well made and in excellent condition. Fully playable and recently refurbished. The instrument plays well and has a good tone for this kind of lute.
It is a top-of-line model made by famous German lute maker Gerhard Reiter, who built lutes in the 1950’s to 70’s for performers such as Walter Gerwig and Narcisco Yepes.
They both recorded music for the baroque (d-minor) lute in the 60’s and 70’s. The back has 31 scalloped ribs of very decorative Brazilian rosewood, 8 tied (gut) frets and 4 body frets.
It has a very finely carved triple rose of eternal knot pattern in decorative borders, ebony pegs, original peg turner and original case are all in excellent condition.
Comes in a custom built case.
