They are simple in design but they have all the elements that give the distinctive tone of a GJ guitar.
The solid top is flexed over the body to create an arch which enables a floating bridge to be used. This is one of the features that gives you the cutting sound Gypsy Jazz guitars are known for. The choice between Oval or D soundhole is yours, the D has a slightly warmer low range sometimes preferred for rhythm players.
