Many mandolin players will tell you to never underestimate a really good teardrop model. When the same quality materials and craftmanship is applied they can prove that those elegant and skillfully carved scroll adornments are not always neccessary in order to produce a great sounding mandolin. If you need an instrument that gets the job done, then the understated A-5 Special from Northfield will cut the mustard without the expense associated with scroll models of this calibre.

The A-5 Special has a slightly wider 30mm nut some players enjoy.
