Regal RD-40V Resonator Guitar

The Regal RD-40V is a resonator guitar that is a roundneck guitar with a dobro style cone and comes in a sunburst finish. These types of resonator guitar were very popular in Nashville during the sixties country scene and were often featured in some of the big hits from that period.

Electric guitarists would set them up with very light strings and pretty much use them as a substitute for that twangy electric guitar sound that was popular in Nashville at that time.

Country blues players also favoured them to the metal body resonators due to their more mellow tone.
