There are not many mandolas on the market but the Trinity College TM-275 is a very useful alternative for the more accomplished mandolin players out there.
Mandolas are to mandolins as violas are to violins in their tuning and scale length.
They are much more mellow and ideal for softer styles. This TM-275 mandola is a great example. All solid timbers being used in it’s construction. Also the neck is slightly wider than the mandolin family.
