Vorson BJ-5E Electric Banjo

If you are looking for a very affordable 5-string banjo that plugs in, check out this Vorson BJ-5E resonator banjo with a factory fitted pick-up including tone-volume controls.

The magnetic pick-up is mounted inside and delivers a very useable sound at high volume.It is lightly built with a small brass tone ring. The lugs are not as heavy as top of the range 5-strings but they are fine for this style of banjo. The Vorson does not require the high tensioned drum head that bluegrass players like to get them a super bright tone.

The pick-up is the game changer here, after market pick-ups can set you back what the Vorson costs and that’s why I was amazed to find it even existed.

When properly adjusted it will play well and if you are in an electric or semi acoustic line-up this banjo will work for you.
