As we head into Winter we are planning a schedule of Winter Workshops. Expressions of interest are welcome. Send us an email or call us to let us know what you are interested in – bluegrass banjo, clawhammer banjo, lap steel, dobro, pedal steel, flatpicking guitar, fiddle, mandolin or something else. We’ll try our best to accommodate.
Some fine new instruments arriving in the shop. Check out the articles on the right about the Stelling Master Flower banjo and the Udini Red Night arch-top among others.
Hope to see you in the shop soon.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday – 10am until 6pm, Saturday – 10am until 4pm. Sunday – closed.
Guitar Gallery sells stringed instruments of all kinds, mostly acoustic but we do have a select range of electric guitars and even a few things without strings at all…concertinas, flageolets, melodicas, jaws harp, kazoo and nose-flute spring to mind. We stock guitars, of course, as well as banjos, mandolins, fiddles, ukuleles, charangos, autoharps, harps, dulcimers and double bass. We even have a koto in stock at the moment.
We try to stock a range of instruments that are exclusive to us or very nearly so. If you want a handmade uke by Scott Wise, a banjo or mandolin by Jaroslav Prucha or a banjo by Geoff Stelling we are the shop for you.
We have Melbourne’s biggest in store range of Blueridge guitars, amazing quality at an affordable price. We are currently offering some great deals on these fine instruments.
We stock Cremona double basses, a fine bass for a very reasonable price. This is the bass that Kim Wheeler swears by for all her live gigs.
We have many unique and collectible acoustic instruments on consignment, from Gibson mandolins and banjos to 1930′s metal bodies dobros.
Guitar Gallery is managed and owned by Gerry Hale. All staff at the shop are musicians and know all the instruments on our walls and can play most of them. All instruments are carefully chosen, well set-up and competitively priced. Most of our staff teach various instruments or can put you in touch with someone who does.
If your instrument is in need of repair, setups, pickup fitting and minor fixes are done at the shop by Gerry at very reasonable rates. If something more involved is required specialist repairer Nara Demasson picks instruments up from us twice a week. Call us, email us or inquire in store regarding your particular needs.
We also have a huge range of strings for all the instruments we stock and then some more…if you are looking for some strings for your charango, Irish bouzouki, dulcimer, guitarron or cello banjo we can sort you out. And we love a challenge.
If you are unable to visit us in person you can buy online. We accept all credit cards via Paypal and we can also arrange for a bank transfer or other means of payment if required. Any orders over $500 we will ship free of charge.
