The Ashbury came into our shop as a mandola but has since changed into an octave mandolin when it was fitted with octave mandolin strings. Octave mandolins seem to be more in demand right now.

It has a longer than standard mandola scale length and this allows to be re-strung either way.

More details about Ashbury Lindisfarne Mandola

The Lindisfarne line from Ashbury UK represents their premium line. These instruments are high grade timbers throughout. This octave mandola is an archtop model, archtops will always produce more mid-range tones than a flat-top mandolin can and so archtops have a reputation for be louder. We have a few  mandolas and they have been very popular, so we are happy to add the Lindisfarne to our collection.
