The Savoy A-150 is one more understated models that Guild made in the sixties. The era of “over the top” ostentatious archtops was starting to give way to simpler and a little more conservative designs.
The solid body was gaining ground and many players were moving into the rock scene where the hollow body archtop was not ideal for using distortion as their sound.
If you are looking for a jazzy warm tone or just would like something different to wear on stage, the Savoy could work for you. Note that flatwound string are often used.
